Doris High

Doris High, 84, formerly of Lampeter, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Landis Homes. She and her husband, Warren G. High were married for 62 years. She was the daughter of the late Ray and Anna Barbara Mellinger Deiter.
Doris was a member of Strasburg Mennonite Church.An avid traveler, she and her husband visited 49 of the 50 United States.
She had been employed as a cafeteria worker for the Lampeter-Strasburg School District for 39 years.Following her retirement she worked at Sight and Sound for 12 years.
She expressed her love and appreciation for people through the gift of food as a wonderful hostess.
Doris was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved her family well. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving beside her husband Warren are two daughters, Nancy J. wife of Jerry L. Engel of Christiana, Carol A. wife of Darell L. Dombach of Willow Street; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas, Jessmin, Jordan, Janae, Travis, Erin; 5 great grandchildren; and a brother J. Clyde husband of Doris Deiter of Millersville.She was preceded in death by a son J. Marlin High.
A celebration of life service will be held at Strasburg Mennonite Church, 1514 Village Road, Strasburg, PA on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11:00AM. Visitations will be held at Landis Homes, West Bethany Chapel, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA on Friday from 6:00-8:00PM and again at Strasburg Mennonite Church on Saturday from 10:00AM until the time of service.
