Obituary

Daniel J. O'Deens age 86 of Gap, passed away at home with his children all present as he was ushered into the presence of Jesus on Thursday, January 23, 2025.  He was the husband of the late Barbara Jean McFadden O'Deens, who passed away on January 24, 2022.  He was born in Cleveland, OH, son of the late Arthur Lee & Rose Ann Ennis O'Deens.  He was a member of Gateway Church. He worked at the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co. (First Energy) for 34 years.  Dan had a heart for missions serving as a missionary for 23 years with Heart for Missions, a mission agency that Dan and Jean started.  Dan loved his family and enjoyed staying busy by serving others.  He served in the United States Marine Corps.  Surviving are 3 children: Erin wife of Jeff Hoenshell of Gordonville, Daniel husband of Gay Weichman O'Deens of Coatesville, Kelly wife of Jonathan Damon of Gap, 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren. Dan was one of 9 children, 2 siblings survive; Patricia and Eileen; He was preceded in death by 6 siblings:  Bob, Terry, Geraldine, Judy, Sandra, and Peggy.

A celebration of life service will take place at Gateway Church, 160 Cowan Road, Parkesburg, PA 19365 on Dan's birthday, Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan's memory in honor of his love for serving and mission.  Donations can be given through Gateway Church or to Steady Hands.  Steady Hands is a mission created by Jonny Damon (Grandson) after the mission Dan and Jean started, "Heart for Missions."  Your generosity will also help Dan's family who are in ministry traveling to his celebration of life.
