Daniel S. Esh, age 89, of Gordonville, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 16, 2024, surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of the late Lena Rachel Esh.  Born in Gordonville, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob S. and Rachel Smoker Esh. He was a member of Weavertown Amish Mennonite Church, Bird-In-Hand, PA. Surviving are 7 children: Jacob, husband of Becky Stoltzfus Esh, of Honeybrook; Lloyd, husband of Mary Ellen King Esh, of Chiang Mai, Thailand; Martha, wife of Nathan Bange, of Smoketown; Kenneth, husband of DeAnn Zook Esh;  Glenn, husband of Jennifer Beachy Esh; Michelle, wife of Jesse Stoltzfus; Eugene, husband of Andrea Mullet Esh, of Gordonville, PA; also 46 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Annie, wife of the late Henry Lapp, of Gap, PA; and Barbara, wife of John U. Lapp, of Gordonville, PA.  He was preceded in death by his wife Lena, 7 grandchildren (infant deaths), 1 sister, Lena Esh Smoker Beiler, and 1 brother, Samuel Esh. Daniel was a farmer and school bus driver for 35 years.  He loved connecting with people and opened his home to guests from all over the world.  He was active with the Gideons for more than 45 years and was passionate about giving Bibles and sharing Jesus anywhere he went.

The funeral service will be at Weavertown Amish Mennonite Church, 2900 Church Road, Bird-In-Hand, PA, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.  Visitation hours will be at the church on Tuesday, August 20, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 21, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.   Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
