Clifford Eugene Maurer, 82, of Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster and formerly of Strasburg, died Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Calvary Homes. He and his wife Sandra "Margie" Stoaks Maurer were married September 1, 1973.Born in East Petersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Chester Arthur and Florence L. Schopf Maurer.
Mr. Maurer retired from Wohlsen Construction Company as a carpenter after 35 years of service.
Clifford was a member of St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Strasburg, and a former member of the Strasburg Swimming Association, the Strasburg Jaycee's and boy scouts. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed genealogy.
He was a US Army veteran and served on the drill team for NATO.
Surviving beside his wife Margie are 3 children, Keith Douglas Maurer of Strasburg, Lori Lynn married to Richard Bechtel of Macungie, and Katrina married to Mark Kistler of Lancaster; 2 step children, Larry Landis of Lancaster and Pamela Landis of Paradise; 3 grandchildren, Cory Bechtel, Cameron Joseph Kistler, and Brady Mark Kistler; 3 step grandchildren, Justin Wiggins, Buddy Wiggins, and Austin Wiggins; 4 step great grandchildren, Jordynn, Savannah, Justin, Jr., and Shaunn; 2 sisters, Shirley Bartoe of East Petersburg, and Nancy Chunko of Lancaster.He was preceded in death by a sister Wanona Maurer.
A memorial service will be held at St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 40 East Main Street, Strasburg, PA on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00PM.A visitation will be held at the church from 1:00PM until the time of service.Inurnment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.Those who desire may make contributions in Mr. Maurer's memory to Hospice and Community Care, P.O.
