Charlotte Eberly Boohar (1920 - 2016) departed this life on Sunday, February 21. in her 96th year. She had a long and productive life. Best known for her 43 years as the proprietor of Chestnut Level Store, she was also a superlative gardener. Born near Georgetown, PA, the third of ten children of Walter F. and Ella M. Graybill Eberly, Charlotte was a life-long resident of Lancaster County. She loved the verdant countryside and the farm families that make it so special with each passing season. Her special interests included 67 year membership in Chris-Penn Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church. Her husband C. Walter Boohar preceded her in death passing in 1962.
She is survived by three children, Charles W. Boohar, Jr., Sue Ella Phifer wife of William H. Phifer and Jo Ann Daly wife Thomas J. Daly, III, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren: siblings, Martha Benner, Mary Shee, Ann Young-Basciani, Nancy Findley, andJay W. Eberly. She was preceded in death by siblings, Charles G. Eberly, Blanche Mimm, John W. Eberly, and Edith DeLong A Memorial Celebration will be held at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Road, Quarryville, PA on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM.A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10-11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow in the family life center.A traditional private burial will be in Atglen Methodist Cemetery.
