Catharine J. "Kitty" Wanner

Catharine J. "Kitty" Wanner, age 94, of Narvon, PA, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. She was the wife of the late Alfred M. Wanner, Sr., who passed away on December 7, 2015. She was born in Harmony Hill, PA, daughter of the late Corson T. & Viola Hinchman Stephens. She was a member of Pequea Presbyterian Church of Gap, where she was a member of the Womens Bible Study, Womens Association, choir member and taught Sunday School. She graduated from Scott High School, class of 1945. After graduation she worked for Sears, then as the Cafeteria Manager for the Pequea Valley School District and then driving school bus for Sweigart's Bus Service for the IU 13. Kitty enjoyed doing her own canning, freezing, knitting, sewing and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family of which she was very proud. Surviving are 3 children: Alfred M. Jr. husband of E. Carolynne "Cookie" Melleby Wanner of Narvon, Jacqueline C. wife of Charles E. Leddy of Columbia, David I. husband of Ruth E. Forrey Wanner of Coatesville, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and a sister in law Helen M. Wanner of Honey Brook. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter in law Monica Yanuzzi Wanner and 2 siblings: M. Helen Miller & Corson T. Stephens, Jr.

Funeral service will take place from the Pequea Presbyterian Church, 273 Cambridge Road, Gap, PA, on Saturday, March 12th at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until time of service. Her son Alfred will be officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Pequea Presbyterian Church Missions Fund. shiveryfuneralhome.com
