February 14, 1955 – January 3, 2025
Calvin L. Buckwalter, 69, of New Holland went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 3, 2025 of pancreatic cancer. Born February 14, 1955 in Hannibal, Missouri to Jacob E. and Kathryn M. Buckwalter.
He graduated from Pequea Valley School District and Vo-Tech, Brownstown in 1973. He took great pride in his job as a mill worker at Sensening's Feed Mill in New Holland working 23 years, retiring in 2020. He was a member of Petra Church where he attended faithfully. He served as a Greeter and was on the team planning activities for the Senior Adult Ministry. He loved teaching the Word of God in Home Group and mentoring and encouraging men struggling with addictions to live in freedom and for Jesus Christ in victory. He enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and eating out. He also enjoyed taking exquisite care of his yard. He was very blessed with children who he loved to spend time with and loved attending the grandkids events. He loved family gatherings, the Pirates and Steelers. He also loved his Dachshund's, Moses (his "Buddy Boy") and Ziva. He will be remembered for his encouraging words and beautiful voice singing worship songs to his Lord.
Calvin is survived by his wife, Connie L. Buckwalter of 21 years. He is also survived by his children Matthew C. Buckwalter (Karen) of Ephrata, Laura W. (Skip) Trimble of Denver, Ross E. Buckwalter of Lititz and Paige E. Endruschat of Denver, Tiffany A (Jody) Snellbaker of Lancaster, Krystal L. (Chad) Frankhouser of Denver, 14 grandchildren, and 4 greatgrandchildren. Also surviving are sister's Dorothy A. Heidbreder, A. Pauline (Robert) Stoltzfus, Evelyn M. (Gary) Joline, Delores Paulk, and brother, Dale A. (Debra) Buckwalter and a brother-in-law, Leonard Groff, Sister-in-law Carol (Randy) Good and Brother-in-law, Rick (Ruthie) Mull. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jacob E. and Kathryn M. Buckwalter, a brother, Jacob E. Buckwalter, a sister Mary Jane Groff, sister-in-law, Sally Buckwalter and brothers-in-law Keith Heidbreder and Peter Paulk.
Memorial service will take place from the Petra Church, 565 Airport Road, New Holland, on Wednesday, January 8th at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing at the church on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place in the Petra Memorial Gardens.
