Betty Jane Shoemaker, 90, formerly of Quarryville, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Lancaster, PA.She was the wife of the late Harold J. Shoemaker who passed away in 2012.
Born in East Drumore Twp. PA, a daughter of the late Irvin and Lettie Risk Herr.
Betty was born and raised on the family farm where she continued to help operate the family farm after she was married.After the farm was sold, she worked for many years as a nurse's aide at Quarryville Presbyterian Community.
Betty was a lifelong member of the Little Britain Presbyterian Church.She also had served faithfully with her husband at the Wakefield Lions Club, and had also helped deliver Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Hauer, (Michael), 3 grandchildren; Stacey (Michael) Mummert, Brian (Mary) Hauer, Kelsey (Dustin) Martin, 8 great grandchildren; Zachary, Tyler, Ella, Addie, Katie, Colby, Kaiah, and Avalee.
Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Feerrar, 2 sisters, Marion Linton and Hazel Pownall.
Funeral service will be at Little Britain Presbyterian Church, 255 Little Britain Church Road, Peach Bottom, PA on Monday, March 16, 2015 at11:00 AM.A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 A.M.Burial will be in Little Britain Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the entire 2nd floor staff at Conestoga View for their compassionate care given to Betty during her stay.
