Betty Jane Nashwinter

Betty Jane Nashwinter, formerly of Gap, was called home on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, PA. She was the wife of the late Frederick J. Nashwinter for 46 years until his passing in 1995. Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Freda I. McManus Ammon and Earl B. Ammon.
She was a graduate of York Run High School and Douglas Business College.Betty worked as an inspector for US Steel and RCA Corp of Lancaster. Later she was a bookkeeper for Green Giant until her retirement. She was a registered volunteer for the Lancaster County Office of Aging for more than 30 years and a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Gap, PA.
She enjoyed both having and going to yard sales, cooking and crocheting.
Surviving her is a daughter Kathy S. (Mark E.) Vandament of Gap, PA; 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia A. Preble.
Funeral services will be held at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 2:00PM. Interment will follow in Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 1:00PM until the time of service.
