Betty Elaine Mendez

Betty Elaine Snyder-Mendez, age 68 of New Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on April 09, 2020. She is survived by her husband, Jose Antonio Mendez, and her eight children: Wesley A. Mendez husband of Stacey Mendez, Tony A. Mendez husband of Lori Mendez, Melissa M. Mendez-Rivera wife of Matt Rivera, Valerie L. Mendez-Saez wife of Joe Saez, Stacey Y. Mendez-Albright wife of Wayne Albright, Jocelyn B. Mendez, Jacoby C. Mendez, and Herman Santana husband of Eva Santana. As well as her fourteen beloved grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Betty Parmer Snyder and two brothers, Lloyd Snyder and Jerry Snyder.
Betty will be remembered as a loving wife of 46 years, mother, grandmother, and friend. She found her true calling in life at Solanco School District, touching the hearts of many young lives. Her most precious moments were family gatherings, where laughter could be heard throughout the neighborhood. She loved cooking for the entire family, while including all her grandchildren in the process, all without using a measuring cup. Betty also enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was in the woods hiking, or at the beach fishing, all while being "instructed" by her witty husband.
Betty and Jose enjoyed their summers relaxing at Rock Hall, MD for over 25 years. Their Bayshore community became more than friends, but family. Her radiant spirit was contagious to everyone she met, and her smile lit up the room.
Betty's love will always be with her children, grandchildren and husband.Your memories will always keep us smiling.
