Barry L. Bleecher

Barry L. Bleecher, age 73, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Cheryl C. Kreider Bleecher for over 45 years. Born in Smithville, Pa he was the son of the late Harry E. D. Bleecher and Elizabeth G. Longer Bleecher. Barry proudly served our country as a Navy Seabee during the Vietnam War. When he was able, he attended Refton Brethren in Christ Church. For most of his career he was a long distance truck driver and later worked for Esch Timber Framing until his retirement. He enjoyed the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, fishing, playing poker, and watching game shows, his favorite was Jeopardy. He also enjoyed Thursday family game night playing Yahtzee, after dinner. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 children; Crystal wife of Tony Spencer with whom he resided, Crimson wife of Roger Fryberger, John Paul fiancé of Emily Riffey, both of Pequea, 13 grandchildren, Evelyn, Donovan, Elyssa, Isaiah, Holly, Moriah, Summer, Owen, Levi, Easton, Clarissa, Lorelei and Weston, 3 siblings: Frances Stively of Millersville, Lorna wife of Kenneth Keene of Salisbury, NC, H. Dale Bleecher of Lancaster, a sister-in-law Janis Bleecher of Lancaster and his two cats Pumpkin and Cinnamon. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Edward "Buzz" and H. Glenn Bleecher, a sister Joyce Platt and sister-in-law Ila Bleecher.

Burial will be private. A public memorial service to celebrate Barry's life will be held at The Lord's House of Prayer, 133 East Vine Street Lancaster, Pa on February 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Matthew Kroll officiating.
