Barbara A. Quick, age 78 of the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and formerly of Gordonville, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Lancaster General Hospital. She was the loving wife of Wayne E. "Quickie" Quick for 58 years before his passing on June 16, 2023. Born in Flemington, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Caroline Snyder Fields. She attended St. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Strasburg. She worked as the secretary for Judge Michael A. Georgelis and Judge David L. Ashworth. In her free time Barbara loved crafting, baking, cooking, canning, flower gardening, and most of all, spending time with her girls. Surviving her are 2 daughters; Suzanne, wife of Bruce Rineer of Strasburg, Laurie, wife of Sam Smucker of Paradise, her dog Sweet Potato, granddogs, Cooper and Snoopy, a sister, Doris Russell of Hunterdon County, NJ, and friends, JB and Rachel Stoltzfus of Kinzers who she loved like family. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Marshall "Sonny" Fields, Jr. and Kenneth Fields.
A memorial service will take place a Shivery Funeral Home, 3214 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise, on Thursday, September 25th at 11 a.m. with a visitation time from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Those in attendance are asked to dress casual. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Larison's Corner Cemetery in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara's honor to the Pennsylvania SPCA, 350 East Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19314.
