Arlene S. Cunningham, age 90, of Christiana and formerly of Romansville, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Arlene was a light to everyone she met and found great joy in caring for those around her through her words, actions, and wonderful cooking. She was known for her generous heart and for the way she made everyone feel like family. She was the wife of the late Owen R. Cunningham, who passed away on July 3, 1996. She was a member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, and in the past was a member of the Marshallton United Methodist Church. She cherished her faith and showed it every day through the way she loved others. In the past, she had worked at Royal Paper and retired from First Financial Bank Mortgage and Loan Department, though her true passions were cooking, baking, and gardening. Above all, Arlene treasured her family and loved spending time with them. Surviving is a son Dennis E. husband of Kimberly Yurick Cunningham of Christiana, 3 grandchildren: Kelsey wife of Nicholas Miller of Parkesburg, Ashley Cunningham of Christiana, Caleb husband of Kayla Frey Cunningham of Christiana, and a very special honorary granddaughter Maddie Hardy. She was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey O. Cunningham. Arlene leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and humility that will continue through the many hearts and lives she touched. Funeral service will take place at Chantry Place, 15 North Bridge Street, Christiana, PA on Monday, October 12th at 11 a.m. with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until time of service. Following a luncheon (that, per her instruction, will not be skimped out on), interment will take place in the Marshallton Methodist Cemetery at approximately 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA, 19365.
