Anna Mary Groff, 94, of Quarryville, PA, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital.She was the widow of the late E. Vernon "Buck" Groff who passed away in 1999.
Anna Mary was a seamstress, having worked in in several local garment factories including Zimmerman's Garment Factory, Strasburg.
She was a member of Mt. Eden Lutheran Church, Quarryville, since 1937.She had been a member of Farm Woman 21, and active in the Mt Eden Quilters Group, and singing in the church choir.
Anna Mary was born in Paradise, PA, a daughter of the late William and Anna Winters Showers.
She is survived by 5 children: Jay Groff and wife Betty, Quarryville, Kenneth W. Groffand wife Patt, Albuquerque, NM, Carol A. Heiser, and husband Robert, Strasburg, Yvonne F. Mitchell and husband Edgar, Quarryville, Linda S. Kreider and husband Glenn, Greenville, IL, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.She was predeceased by her daughter Thelma Rineer.
The Funeral Service will be held at Mt. Eden Lutheran Church, 1241 May Post Office Road, Quarryville on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Traci Glover officiating.The burial will be in Mt. Eden Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Mt.
