Obituary

Amos D. Hoover, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2024.  He was born in White Horse, Gap, PA, son of the late Jacob R. and Anna E. Martin Hoover.  He is survived by his wonderful wife Wanda Flores Hoover, Brother Raymond M Hoover and 8 children: Virginia Hoover, Phyliss, wife of Barry Clark, Dwight Hoover, Nathanael, husband of Cathy Sager Hoover, Ernest, husband of Jona Bandyopadhyay, John, husband of Kathy Martin Hoover, Marsha, wife of Jamie Feathers and Joel Hoover, 23 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He enjoyed picnics, family gatherings, gardening, grafting and growing trees and shrubs.  He enjoyed fishing for salmon in the Pacific, flounder in Quincy Bay, MA and tuna and blues in the Atlantic.  He loved to visit Maine, Florida, the mountains of Northern PA, the North and South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Redwoods in California, Pikes Peak Colorado and parks in Utah.  He was a life member of the PA Nut Growers Association, of which he served as a director for several years.  Amos spent years as a dairy farmer, did grain hauling, Sperry New Holland retiring in 1992 and also transported Amish businessmen for several years.  He graduated from the former Salisbury High School class of 1946. He attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, New Holland United Methodist Church, Calvary Monument Bible Church and Calvary Church.  He loved his Lord and his family.

A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to County Corrections Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 1136, Coatesville, PA. 19320.
