Alverda M. Zook

Alverda M. Zook, age 93, formerly of Ronks, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024.  She was the wife of the late Jonas F. Zook for 65 years before he passed away on February 1, 2014.  She was born in Leacock Twp., daughter of the late Jacob & Florence Heinley Lapp.  She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Paradise.  She worked for High Industries retiring in 1997.  She enjoyed bowling, watching college basketball, especially Duke.  She also enjoyed attending her great-grandchildren's sporting events, Hallmark station, and doing Word Search puzzles.  Surviving are two daughters:  Carol A. wife of Fred Andrew of Lancaster, Linda M. wife of Dale Scott, Jr. of Mira Loma, CA, 4 grandsons: Mark & Matthew Andrew and Ryan & Jason Scott, 9 great-grandchildren, Abigail, Caleb, Cameryn, Savannah, Sedona, Jackson, George, Jamie, and Esmé.  She was preceded in death by 3 brothers:  Jacob S., Gary L. and H. Edwin Lapp.

Funeral service will take place from the Shivery Funeral Home, 3214 Lincoln Highway East, Paradise,  on Saturday, September 21 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Gene Errickson officiating.  Interment will be in the Riverview Burial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O.
