Obituary

Alice T. DellaVecchia, 96, of Willow Street, formerly of Kirkwood, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Willow Valley. She was the wife of the late Charles M. DellaVecchia. Born in Missoula, MT she was the daughter of the late Raymond J. and Ellen M. Hogan O'Brien. She was a loyal long time member of St. Catherines, the church that she cherished dearly. Alice was an avid artist, using oil, watercolor, and mixed media in her painting.  She was also known for her crafting talents.  The highlight of her time as an artist was in October, 2016 when she and her work were featured at a Willow Valley banquet that addressed the importance of art for those receiving memory care. Alice volunteered and used her talents to bless those at LGH, sewing curtains for hospital rooms  smocks for Drs and much more. She created the Christmas Mouse program at St. Catherines of Sienna. For many years she crafted hand sewn dresses for Shader's porcelain dolls. She loved to travel and visit her family who lived throughout the country.

Alice is survived by 6 Children: Dennis (Denise) DellaVecchia of PA, Michael (Barbara) DellaVecchia of NV, Sharon (Bryan) Lenzi of DE, Patricia "Kitta" (David) Grimes of NJ, Margaret (Rick) Barbine of PA, and Regina (Michael) Kealty of DE, 15 grand children, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren,  and her brother Robert (Marge) O'Brien of CA.

She was preceded in death by her youngest son Raymond James DellaVecchia, 3 siblings: Ellen "Micky" Christianson, Margaret McCall, and Ray O'Brien.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catherines Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Hwy Quarryville, PA 17566 on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will take place in the Delaware Veteran Memorial Cemetery at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
