Stephen R. Petersheim, 80, of Lancaster, PA, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Saturday, March 16, 2019. He was the husband of Anna Ruth Fisher Petersheim, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on December 15th. He was born in Bird In Hand, son of the late Christian & Priscilla Riehl Petersheim. He was an active member of Parkesburg Mennonite Church. He graduated from the Nashville Auction School and went on to own and operate Petersheim Auctioneer’s for 47 years. He loved the New York Yankees, buying and selling horses, helping on the farm, bluegrass music and most of all he loved spending time with his family. Surviving besides his wife are 6 children: John E. husband of Donna Kreider Petersheim, with whom he resided, Naomi A. wife of Mahlon L. Glick of Narvon, Stephen Jr. husband of Verda Stoltzfus Petersheim of Gap, Ruth A. wife of David Romanoff of East Earl, Samuel M. husband of Marta Frederick Petersheim of Linville, VA, Orpha Rose wife of David E. Longenecker of Christiana, 19 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, sister, Lydia wife of Benuel Stoltzfus of Strasburg. He was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Moses Petersheim, Ruth Lapp, Elizabeth Fisher, Emma Fisher.
Memorial service will take place from the Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 549 Swan Road, Atglen, PA on Thursday, March 21st at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Buckwalter officiating. Private interment will take place in the Millwood Mennonite Cemetery prior to the memorial service. There will be a viewing time at Maple Grove Mennonite Church on Wednesday, March 20th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Parkesburg Mennonite Church, 44 East Second Avenue, Parkesburg, PA 19365.
