Ian Michael Gingerich, age 24 of Conestoga, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 as the result of a vehicle accident. He was born in Bedford, IN, son of Samuel O. and Catherine L. Schnupp Gingerich of Conestoga. He was a member of Life Mennonite Fellowship of Willow Street. He was in his final semester at Penn State, Harrisburg, finishing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He had worked for Mark G. Brubaker, CPA in Elizabethtown. He was also self-employed with his brother installing wood flooring. He was a true Renaissance man with many different talents, interests and a wide range of knowledge on many subjects. He enjoyed traveling, playing piano, drums, basketball, frisbee, and hanging out with his friends. Surviving besides his parents are 4 siblings: Matthew K., Amy M., Katie L., Trenton K. Gingerich, at home, grandparents: Clair and Clara Durksen Schnupp of Dryden, Ontario.
Funeral service will take place at the Manor Church, 530 Central Manor Road, Lancaster, on Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. There will be a viewing at Life Mennonite Fellowship, 732 Millwood Road, Willow Street, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ian’s memory to Life Mennonite Fellowship, Willow Street. The funds will go to help Ian’s brother, Matthew, on his cancer journey.
